File compression is a data compression method in which the logical size of a file is reduced to save disk space for easier and faster transmission over a network or the Internet. It enables the creation of a version of one or more files with the same data at a size substantially smaller than the original file.
Example of compression folder with Win Rar
1. Select desired folder
2. Right-click select Add to Archive
3. Select desired compression format (ZIP, RAR)
4. Click OK
Extract compressed files and folders
1. Select desired folder
2. Right-click select Extract here files will be extracted in the current folder ( if you want to choose a destination for extraction select option Extract files and dialogue windows will allow you to select destination steps 3 and 4 )
3. Select destination
4. Click OK
