The ALiVE project aims at fostering the media and information literacy (MIL) of citizens and raising awareness of its key importance in today’s highly digitalised and globalised society, where we have easy access to incredible amounts of information, especially online, making it difficult to assess critically. In particular, it targets seniors (adults over 45) who have fewer learning opportunities to foster these skills, which are attractive, updated and directly tailored to their gaps

As the official body, representing the visually impaired people permanently residing in the Cyclades, "AROGI" and its Members, make every effort to facilitate and upgrade the quality of life of our fellow human beings, strengthening the non-negotiable right in a dignified and equal living, similar to the other members of the island society.
OVERVIEW
Although a universal right, social inclusion and successful participation to society is a challenge for many citizens. This is the case, when people have to deal with hindering conditions, such as a disability. Especially, when this disability is characterised by cognitive impairments - as is true for people with an intellectual disability or an acquired brain injury - social inclusion is even more challenging. Adaptations of the environment to overcome the impairment to make society more accessible, is one important way to deal with the challenge.
The main objective of TETRA-S is to improve the competences of the adult educators in teaching people with a cognitive disability transversal skills in an efficient and effective way and to enhance the transfer of these skills in the everyday life of the learners. Several challenges need to be addressed to realise this general objective. Therefore, the general objective of TETRA-S is supported by subgoals:
- to change hindering beliefs of adult educators on the learning potential of the learners;
- to reduce resistance and inertia towards the effective adoption and application of the appropriate (digital and non-digital) tools;
- to improve competences to create a powerful learning environment for teaching transversal skills, tailored to the needs of people with a cognitive disability as a prerequisite for an adequate learning process;
- to improve competences to create conditions and apply techniques for training of transfer, such as metacognitive reflections.
The project will deliver the following results:
- tools for assessment and improving beliefs of adult educators;
- tools for improving skills for adult educators to realize transfer and successful social inclusion;
- an interactive MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), including an eLearning Management System (LMS) that will host all training/learning content, such a handbook, and the developed webinars and apps.
In the TETRA’S Project, vzw Ubuntu Achtkanter, Belgium, the university of Evora, Portugal, the Instituto Valenciano de Atención Social-Sanitaria, Spain, G.M Eurocy Innovations LTD, Cyprus, the Association of People with disabilities, Bulgaria, ENSA - European Network Of Social Authorities and, as associated partners, the University college for applied sciences HoGent, Belgium, IRECOOP, Italy, and the university of Plovdiv “Paisii Hilendarski”, Bulgaria join efforts to bring together knowledge and experiences for empowerment and successful social inclusion of persons with cognitive disabilities.
